@SunsetBeachHawaiiBoy My wife and kids all watch the fights, TUF, everything UFC related. My kids are getting into BJJ, Karate and wrestling because of MMA, and they love it. ESPN needs to cover the sport more, and give more exposure to these fighters who are some of the best athletes in the world, regardless of sport. But they prefer to play Spelling Bees and women’s volleyball.
@25dapp True.since they are guaranteed a certain amount, its their option if they want to play it safe, and most of them do. This is why you see finishes and great fights in the UFC on a consistent basis. And most of the times, the finishes are more spectacular in MMA.
@BooInIowa The only difference is that ESPN air the boxers that get paid chump change, while they criticize the pay of UFC fighters, and they get paid more, even on a Fight night card.
No fighter has a bad thing to say about the UFC…whose being one sided now.
No doubt, the UFC has done marvels for this industry, but come on guys, pay them a decent wage especially the less known fighters.
These fighters get paid well. The pay structure is fair.

a new fighter in the UFC usually makes about 8,000 to show and 8,000 to win from what i have seen the commission reporting. So you can make 16,000 in one night for 15 minutes or less of work or go work at McDonalds and make 16,000 in a year. There is also the possibility of a bonus plus sponsor money. ESPN sucks!!!
